About the event
This full day, silent, meditation retreat will be an opportunity for experienced meditators to connect to nature, to our animal brethren, and to other Buddhist practitioners at the site of the Rivendell Farmed Animal Sanctuary.

The retreat's theme will be Opening to the Boundless Heart of Compassion, and will feature a Dharma talk and discussion period with Soto Zen teacher, Reverend Master Hugh Gould, from the Order of Buddhist Contemplatives. Rev. Hugh is the resident priest at Eugene Buddhist Priory, and has been a practicing Zen monk for 37 years. He received Dharma Transmission in 1997, became a teacher in 2000, and was named a Master in 2003. Following the Dharma talk, there will be a discussion period where retreatants can ask questions and explore the topics raised. Rev Hugh will be connecting via zoom for this portion of the retreat.
There will also be seated, walking, and work meditation…
